| Vie Luxe International was established in 2004 by Marjorie Gubelmann when she introduced a line of scents that are based on her favorite travel destinations. Marjorie grew up in a family that was both ambitious and intriguing, and it is obvious where she gets her motivation and talent for creating elegant scented Vie Luxe candles, room sprays, body lotions and liquid soaps, along with a strong passion for entertaining. It’s no wonder she has captivated luxury home fragrance admirers throughout the world.
Marjorie’s desire to master the finest scents and her love for entertaining are a reflection of her childhood. Her successful parents and grandparents were a positive influence in her life, and they all seem to have passed on some of their own creative traits. Great-grandfather Gubelmann was an inventor with more than 5000 claims on patents and was noted “the father of all calculating machines in use today” by “Popular Mechanics” magazine, and her father was an exuberant professional race car diver. Her grandfather and grandmother Gubelmann were known for their hospitality of many social events that included friends of royalty like the Duke and Duchess of Windsor and Prince Charles. Grandpa Gubelmann was also an avid and accomplished yachtsman.
Even though Marjorie still likes to entertain the old-fashioned way, her formal dinner party menu has stepped-up from her grandmother’s “grits and oxtail stew” to “cheese or bacon-wrapped water chestnuts hors d'oeuvres, lobster vinaigrette and rack of lamb,'' but when it comes to entertaining, she has proudly followed in her grandmother’s footsteps. Shoshanna Lonstein, Mark Gilbertson and Nicole Miller are just a few of the many guests that can be found at one of Marjorie’s dinner parties.

Istanbul is the largest city in Turkey and is known for historical churches and synagogues, plus buildings that reflect many people and empires that were rulers of the past, including the Maiden’s (Leander’s) Tower which was built in 408 BC to guide ships within the strait.
