| Known for creating ambiance in any room, Tocca candles were created by a company named for the Italian word meaning "touch" because of the look and feel of its sophisticated embroideries and sensuous fabrics. The birth of Tocca came about in an unusual way, for its roots are just as original as its line of clothing. In St Lucia, during the winter of 1994, a crowd of friends and associates got together to celebrate the coming of the New Year. While at this gathering, the creative director (Edoardo Mantelli) and the first designer (Marianne Oudejan) of Tocca had a meeting of the minds as they expressed their mutual passion for unique clothing designs. They soon incorporated another partner (Gordon Finkelstein) the president of Tocca and started a company that has certainly sprouted since the small 400 square foot building it was born in.
